Winter travel in Mongolia will leave you with wonderful and unique memories of your trip. On this trip, you will experience local culture and adventures. Enjoy Central Asia’s unique nomadic culture which has developed in harmony with the natural landscape and social environment since prehistoric times.
There are a variety of historic sites and ruins, including monuments, monasteries of interest within this cultural landscape. You will also have the opportunity to celebrate Lunar New Year with a nomadic family.
As a Mongolian company we prefer to support Nomadic families financially, and help support their livelihoods. We are sure this resonates with our travellers who enjoy engaging with their culture on The Steppe. It is therefore our preference to stay with these families if they have an extra Ger. As well as directly supporting local herders, you can experience this rich traditional way of life first hand.
Tour departure times can be flexible, however, 8 am on the morning of departure is recommended. The driver and guide can pick you up from the airport, train station, or your accommodation to suit your requirements.
Most of the meals on this tour are included in the tour price. All included meals will be prepared from fresh local produce. The majority of the shopping for food will be done before the trip departs, and fresh goods, such as meats, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products, will be bought en-route during the trip from supermarkets, local shops and markets. Breakfasts will generally consist of breads and cereals, if time allows a warm breakfast may be prepared. Many lunches will be provided en-route and will be light meals such as sandwiches and/or salads or local restaurants. All evening meals will be freshly-prepared hot meals, and will consist of a variety of continental and local dishes. Our GUIDE will organize the meal preparation and lead the way here. Vegetarian meals and other dietary requirements can be catered for but need to be specified prior to arrival.
Winter in Mongolia typically spans from late November to early March. The Mongolian winters are cold and dry, with temperatures often dropping well below freezing. Best Trip Ever With Locals
Enjoyed the trip in Mongolia with my best brothers, Bunny and Ogi, who are the local guide and driver during 28 April and 4 May. They are very passionate, professional and helpful! All of us enjoy the trip so much with the true Mongolia experience with Nomadic families, tremendous natural views, awesome animals, delicious traditional Mongolian food in restaurant or prepared by Bunny, as well as the camel and horse riding. Never expect to have such a wonderful local experience! Strongly recommend for every tourist to join their tours.
Best Trip with Best Guide and Driver
At the Meg’s guesthouse, the room was very comfortable with breakfast served.
Bunny (Bujin) was our tour guide and Ogi was our driver. Bunny was very very very friendly and we made good friendship with her. She introduced the culture of Mongolia and brought us to local restaurants to enjoy the food there. She was a happy guide and always chat with us and make sure we were satisfied with the tour. We love her so much! Ogi was also a friendly driver that brought us from places to places. It was a perfect trip with them.
We joined the 5 days spring and winter culture tour and one day trip to the terej national park and chinggis khan statue. We visited local ger which they provided nice and warm living place. It was an unforgettable experience to watch the stars and galaxy above the sky and ride horse and camels.
We strongly recommend tourists to choose Meg’s.
