This trip encompasses the many stunning highlights of the world famous Gobi Desert and the lush, green surroundings of Central Mongolia. After wandering around the Gobi, we will then head north to Central Mongolia. Here you will enjoy spectacular and lush greenery, trekking to and swimming in the freshwater Eight Lakes and waterfalls. Then we will visit many famous cultural sites. Highlights include the ancient capital Khar Khorin, the Erdenezuu monastery, and trekking in the Naiman Nuur (Eight Lakes) national park.
Driving south from Ulaanbaatar, you will pass through the Middle and Southern regions of the desert, allowing you to experience the vastness of this special landscape. Among the rolling sand dunes and hills, activities include riding two humped Bactrian camels through the desert, visiting a Nomadic family, as well as enjoying the spectacular sunrises and sunsets. After wandering around Gobi, we will then head north to Central Mongolia. Here you will enjoy spectacular and lush greenery, swimming in freshwater Great White lake and waterfalls, as well as many famous cultural sites.
The city tour, from 8am until 6pm, includes Gandan Monastery, the National History Museum, Zaisan monument, where you will view the whole city. Ger district on the outskirts of Ulaanbaatar lie the ger districts – a fascinating sprawl of informal gers and housing that stretch up into the hills around the city, as well as Sukhbaatar Square and the local ‘black market’ Narantuul.

Northern Mongolia is also home to the famous Tsaatan Reindeer Herdsmen, an ethnic group that has remained virtually unchanged since the Ice Age. The Tsaatan are reindeer herders who seemingly live on the edge of civilization. Khorgo Volcano, Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan which is 16 kilometers wide, 20 kilometers in length 20 meters in depth, and 61 square kilometers in this area. The Lake is extremely beautiful with fresh water and rich species of fish and birds.
