Currently, workers of ……. are contributing to our shelter’s activity, making donations to the children, as well as having friendly heart-to-heart discussions with the women living in the shelter. Moreover, they have promoted our Center’s activity through donating 500$ towards the training of qualified specialists in local branches. - [“HOPE” Hospice kids room](https://megmongolia.com/2023/09/20/hope-hospice-kids-room/): One of Meg’s charity activities involved buying items for the HOPE Hospice kids room. This included carpet, a mushroom lamp and some other furniture for the room. Meg’s purchases make the room warm, colourful and the environment more welcoming for the children. The future plan is to do more work in this room to assist the children who are suffering from Cancer.
- [Rights for Disabled Children: Flash Mob](https://megmongolia.com/2023/09/20/rights-for-disabled-children-flash-mob/):  On March 30th, 2014, 300 disabled children set out to the heart of Ulaanbaatar where they performed a flash mob to raise awareness for their rights. The event, held in Ulaanbaatar’s iconic Chinggis Square (formerly Sukhbaatar Square), gathered media attention from all over the country and helped inspire a movement that had formerly received little public attention. With reportedly over 30,000 disabled children in Mongolia, we are proud to have been an official sponsor for this wonderful event. http://bidchadna.mn/

There exists a dire need to support children with disabilities, especially those located in the rural areas. The Association of Parents with Disabled Children (APDC) is a national organization. They are one of the leading organizations working to provide these children with resources and an education to prepare them for their futures. Their centre in Bayan-Ulgii provides opportunities for therapy and education for the children of the surrounding area. We use these donations in a myriad of ways. Homelessness in UB is an issue, as in many other cities around the world. The varied paths that lead a person there are numerous, but they all endure the same challenges: pollution, indifference, and bitterly cold days and nights. - [Physiotherapy for children with Physical Disability](https://megmongolia.com/2023/09/20/physiotherapy-for-children-with-physical-disability/): Merciful World NGO Merciful World are a group of parents with children with disabilities. They established this NGO to provide jobs for parents of children with disability. They spend their profits on projects that benefit the well-being of children with disability. Their main activity is to manufacture eco-friendly products such as non-plastic bags, souvenirs and study materials. Each summer they organise for all the children to go to a summer camp where they can access various activities as well as treatments from doctors and therapists. - [Paintings](https://megmongolia.com/2023/09/20/paintings/): The 29th School of Ulaanbaatar is unique in that it has the only program dedicated to deaf children in primary and secondary education. We work in conjunction with Dashdendev, the school’s art teacher, by selling these students’ works of art to travelers through our guest house. Proceeds from these sales are returned to the students to help encourage, empower, and inspire these children. Our belief is that in doing so, we are equipping them with the confidence to boldly move forward with their lives with every ounce of brilliance and talent that they possess.
- [Wheelchair for Enkhtur](https://megmongolia.com/2023/09/20/wheelchair-for-enkhtur/): Enkhtur has hydrocephalus (water on the brain) since he was 8 years old, which has caused him to loose his vision and his ability to walk, but his brain works just fine. Meg met him in the hospice and she decided to purchase a wheelchair for Enkhtur, as he had none. He is a very smart and special boy with lots of potential. Doctors said that he will only live for 3 to 4 more years even if he is well cared for and loved which is very sad as life can be very unfair for some people. Meg is […]
- [Wheelchair for a Nomadic boy](https://megmongolia.com/2023/09/20/wheelchair-for-a-nomadic-boy/): Meg met a lovely family while travelling in Central Mongolia whose oldest 19 year old son Bayaraa* was half paralysed from the age of two due to medical treatment. His wheelchair was broken and he had to crawl around. The Mongolian government gives disabled people low cost wheelchairs every 5 years.  Bayaraa’s wheelchair had already been broken for 2 years.  Finally, thanks to the help of Meg’s clients, she managed to buy him a wheelchair with funding from the profit made on Meg’s Adventure tours. - [Single father (UB ger districts)](https://megmongolia.com/2023/09/18/single-father-ub-ger-districts/): Support for single mothers has always been an issue dear to me, however, it isn’t one shouldered by women alone. In the ger districts of UB, ________, a father of two, struggles to support his family after his wife passed away from lung cancer two years ago. With a portion of our proceeds, we provided his children with school materials and some financial support for their education.

Most of the women who sew the clothes are either single parents or on low incomes. Meg was in the street one day and got talking to a TV crew who were filming the ladies and explained that they no longer had a working sewing machine to do their work for much needed income.
